CC, I'm only asking here b/c I'm curious so please understand I'm not trying to stir the pot.

Your story suggests that these other hunters on your club (I'm assuming you all are members) came in on top of you once you had the "super jake" fired up. You even stood up to let them be aware of your presence. So I take it they were within eyesight of you, 100 yds. maybe ???

How does your club handle turkey hunting the property? Do you guys sign out an area?

It just seemed like from the story that you started out relatively close to the other hunters for an area and then they came in on top of you when the turkey started gobbling. Either I'd be pissed at them for doing that if I were you or if I were in their shoes I'd be a little pissed that another hunter came in relatively close to the area I was hunting. Although from the sounds of it they didn't know too damned much about turkey hunting since they wacked the jake. Nor could they be too damned pissed since you let the bird walk that they ended up killing. If you signed out an area and were in your area and they signed out their area and came in on top of you like that then I'd be having some discussions, or vice versa.

Again I'm just asking. I'm happy for you for getting a mature gobbler and showing the patience you did. Just been wondering about the above all day since reading your story. Again not trying to stir the pot I'm just asking.

Sounds like somebody could get friggin killed on your club if you're not careful

The club that I speak of I just joined this year for only Turkey Rights and yes there is a sign out board.......no-one really was in the wrong as I was on the line of the tract I was hunting and they were on their side trying to coax this bird off me fudging a bit.......but they were still on their side........where these guys were parked in their "Zone" was GOOD 4-500 yards away......Ihave hunted many clubs for birds and most are the same and just as pressured as public land.O and they set-up 40 yards behind me....They really wouldn't have know I was there if I wouldn't have stood up and got their attention.....which if I wouldn't have done I would without a shadow of a doubt been sprayed upon when the bird was 5 yards in front of me on the log struttin'.....

I figured that was the case CC. Be careful brother! I like seeing and reading your stories of turkey kills. I don't want to see or read a story of you being the one that got shot.

I didn't think there was any damn way you would do something wrong like that. I thought all day about it and the more I thought about it the more I got pissed off. I'd of give them guys a talking to for sure. Not for killing the Jake but for "fudging"! 40 freaking yds! that's WAAAAAAAAAAAY too frigg'n close!
