Hard to beat John's grill. I have had 2, and I kept the bigger one. He will help you set it up, and he is also like the "tech line" if you need help or advice after the purchase.

I'm actually trying to get him to build me a trailer for it and throw my bigger Carter on there as a package deal.

Just don't bring up politics. Trust me.

I never cook with anything but real wood.

One word of caution about pull behind cookers is they tend to roll away. you loan it to your buddy , he loans it to his neighbor, who then loans it to his cousin who then loans it to his bil. Now you have no idea where your cooker is. True story.

I would not have aluminum for the cooker body. Aluminum conducts heat well, but displaces it quickly. One of the reasons it’s harder to weld than steel. Loses heat 5 times faster than steel. Makes good pans as long as it has good mass and an alloy to overcome low melting point. Thinner sheets will cool down quickly. Hard to hold temps in colder weather with a cooker. If you have to leave it for any amount of time and fire gets low or goes out, aluminum loses its heat way faster than steel. If you have gas, may not be as big an issue.
Would also think at a 6-650 degree melt point if you had an unsupervised grease fire, might melt down if it’s not an alloy.

Lang would be one of my first choices if you don’t want propane.

    This.

It can cook fast or slow smoke. Great multitask smoker/grill.

You cooked some good flyway chicken on that thing.

It could have been the hay dust and mold but I remember it being of excellent quality.

I agree with the doggy doc. It was some good chicken and fixings.

I think the exhaust from the old jeep had something to do with the flavor as well.

Thanks fellas, I really appreciate all of the help. I've decided on an Alveron, should be complete in a couple months. That man sounds like he knows what he is doing and from all the references I've contacted, they cany be beat.
