I have a co-worker that has one there and is also getting the run around, and has been for years now. His has been there for over 3 years.....he's better than i would've been about it.

Had another friend that waited for years on his and he finally went and got his. She somehow lost his cape so all he got was his horns.

I dropped a coyote off to a taxidermist back at the start of covid and paid for it to be tanned. Ghosted out on me after several attempts to make contact. He was a member here.

She moved to Alabama I heard. I dropped a velvet 12 pt rack my teenage daughter killed off there going on 3 years ago just to get the velvet preserved and haven't seen it since.

I prepaid for it. I would like to get the rack back. It was a perfect 6x6.

I had used her to preserve velvet racks before and gotten several mounted by her.

    She was always slow.

She did a turkey for me, and it was about of the quality I paid for.

It is pretty low to take folks trophies, especially kids, and not have the decency to call them and be honest about your situation. It would be the decent thing to do to get them their sentimental trophies back, in whatever condition.
Them that don't know him won't like him, and them that do sometimes won't know how to take him

The last one I took there took 2 years to get back. She also charged extra for a cape because she said the cape was no good. I quit using her after that. Another guy I know took her a pronghorn several years ago. I think he just got it back. He is the one who told me she moved to Alabama.

Meh. Not worth it to drag a guy through the mud. No idea if he's even alive. Its been a while since I've noticed him on here. Wouldn't be the first time a taxidermist died on me. (Stan Houghs, never got my first duck back) Anyway, the guy kept saying the tannery was backed up because of covid. After a while he stopped responding.

For some reason Taxidermy seems to have more shady people than any other craft or trade.

It’s ALL the time you hear about situations like this. And it’s happened to me as well.

It happened here in Spartanburg a year or so back. Popular local taxidermist just closed up, gone along with every animal they had taken in. A lot of people lost racks, ducks and hides and never heard a word.

You would think that when you carry a deer, duck, or any other animal to someone it would be a binding contract for said person to mount or at least not steal private property which that in my eyes would be. I guess you could go after them and press charges? Thats theft in my opinion

The last deer I got mounted I took to Great Outdoors in Bowman. I recommend them. They do great work and it's about 9 months to a year wait. 136 1/8 8 pt. I wasn't gonna mount it but Whackumstackum talked me into it. He saw the deer and I believe it hurt his feelings.

She done several deer for me over the years. Usually got them back in 12-15 months. But to confirm, yes she has moved to Alabama
