    Default A hunting thread

I will admit that I had lost a lot of my drive to hunt in the last 10 years. Life got busy and it just took a back seat. I went from hunting weekly for whatever was in season to hunting 1 or 2 times a year. Part of that was kids/life and part of that was just a loss of desire to get out there. If you find yourself in the same seat I was in, get a bird dog. It’s a whole different sense of accomplishment to hunt with your own dog. My dog is still young and learning, but dang this is fun.

That’s awesome. I was just talking about hunting woodcock with my dad. Definitely something I would love to get into.

He had some adrenaline going. He had just pointed another bird about 2 minutes before that one so he was pretty excited.

Awesome. Those dogs are great I have a couple of friends with them out west. They will hunt anything.

Heard y'all ran your mouths about a specific WMA. Have heard it from three different people. Word travels fast. Kill them but keep them a secret.

I haven’t said a thing to anyone about where I’m hunting. I hunt all over the place. I’m not even sure who I would “run my mouth” to.

Yes, I am a little butthurt. I have heard from three very credible sources about you or someone in your circle burning this WMA spot.

What you don’t know is that certain woodcock covers hold certain memories for people. The spot you burned is where I cut my teeth, it’s where I spent hours and miles and taught my now nine year old dog how to hunt. I poke in there nowadays once a year for a nostalgia hunt with that dog. Hearing from the property manager and others about someone being so loose lipped just rubs me the wrong way a little. Yes, it’s selfish. It’s just as much yours as it is mine. But I'm still going to be butthurt about it.
