    Default Ice Storm

They usually blow these events way out of porportion but this thing could cause widespread outages and with the temps they are predicting, it could be a bad deal. I'm in the Arcadia Lakes area of Cola and will be able to get around on my 4wheeler. If you have family in the area, especially older folks and they need assistance or you just need em checked on, let me know and I'll do what I can.

It could be bad. I'm glad my subdivision has underground wiring.

    16 days.

That is the number of days I spent stuck in my house waiting for people to cut me out after my chainsaw gas ran out. Don't sleep on ice storms...

Underground wiring is all good, but doesn't help when trees take out the overhead lines that feed the transformer your underground lines are tied into.

You are correct. Our street connects to a street which is a main line. There aren't any trees on it for miles. If the power goes out, its usually fixed quickly.

Wonder if insurance agents will be out cutting their clients trees up. You know a live human being to go to an all.

Hope all are safe but news been crying for snow for the last two weeks now three weeks and i have yet to see a single flake of snow. I got food, gas in the vehicle, propane, beer, rum, and water. I am not afraid to drive in the snow as long as those that cant are at home and off the road.

My younger self is excited that I get to use my generator but my "don't let me pipes freeze" self really hopes the power stays on or at least off for less than a couple of hours at a time. My neighbor cut down all of the trees that imperiled my house when they remodeled so at least that is not a concern. Good luck to everyone. MG

As the case most likely will be. Grocery stores and propane filling stations across the South will enjoy the increase of sales.

At this point, the best I can hope for is one of my pines snapping off and landing directly on top of my 6.2 Chevy

We live outside of city limits but are close enough that we are on city power,,, we usually are the first to lose it and the last to get it back,, charcoal, propane, water, batteries, charging thingys full charged, beer , meat , gas, and hoping that we don't kill each other stuck in the house.
