SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. —
South Carolina wildlife agents are issuing a warning about roadside dumping after a bald eagle died after being hit by a car.
The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources said someone in Sumter County dumped a cooler containing fish parts of striper, catfish and bream along with plastic bottles and worm cups along a roadside.

They said a resident bald eagle was attracted to the fish parts as a quick meal.
The eagle was spooked by a passing vehicle and fatally struck the front bumper of the truck, according to SCDNR.
