French Brittany, he’s hunted in more states than me, hell of a bird dog. Pointed Huns, Sharptail, Pheasants, bobwhites and Blue quail. He’s also a fine retriever.

“… duckhunting stands alone as an outdoor discipline. It has a tang and spirit shared by no other sport—a philosophy compounded of sleet, the winnow of unseen wings, and the reeks of marsh mud and wet wool. No other sport has so many theories, legends, casehardened disciples and treasured memories.”

That Pointer on the left of Birdfinder's picture is AWESOME! I'm a shorthair guy but if you really want to see intense pointing, no dog does it like an English Pointer. That's one of the best points/honor I think I've ever seen.

My dog hasn’t pointed a tamie since training, but we don’t hunt in SC either and when we do hunt the wild coveys here on the farm we don’t shoot them.

Yall could ruin a wet dream. Just let them post the pictures of the dogs!
“Duck hunting gives a man a chance to see the loneliest places …blinds washed by a rolling surf, blue and gold autumn marshes, …a rice field in the rain, flooded pin-oak forests or any remote river delta. In duck hunting the scene is as important as the shooting.” ~ Erwin Bauer, The Duck Hunter’s Bible, 1965

I love this thread, grew up with several great English Pointers and lots or wild quail around the house.
Enjoyed the pics, took me back in time to a good place.
