I love my '13. It isn't for sale. I just want it to last the way my previous '95 did. I really don't know about the oil consumption, I haven't been checking it. The dealership hadn't said anything about it being low when I bring it in for service. However, my '87 f150 burns about a quart ever 500-600 miles.
Bet it is the 302 in the ford, my 351 does not burn oil and never has. They got the handle on the oil burn on the GM 5.3 by 2013.

I know I have asked before and forgot, but what silverado models don't have DOD?

KRT,
Ive got a 14' with 62K. Should I go ahead and do it? Also have the extended warranty to 120K. She's been sluggish from the start since I got it, and seems to downshift two gears when I jump on it.
Go Tigers!!!
I have an 07 suburban with 200k+ that has not given us ANY problems except the oil consumption and a bad evap solenoid valve. Uses about a quart every 2k. Primarily #1 but some in #7 cylinder. I remove those 2 plugs and clean or replace every other oil change. I'd like to have the DOD delete but fear its probably to late to make a difference. What is the cause of the oil consumption? At this kind of milage do I just let it break before tearing into it. I'd hate to spend 2-3k on the top end then have the lower go out in a year or two. We have no reason or desire to replace this vehicle anytime in the next 5-6 years.
Get a 5.0 V8 F-150 and you won't have to worry about any of this. You will also get 22-24 MPG (if you keep it under 60mph) on the highway.

If it ain\'t accurate at long distance, then the fact that it is flat shooting is meaningless.
Who drives under 60 on the highway? Other than permitted loads....

KRT, can you delete the Multi-Displacement System on a 5.7L Ram 1500?
