    Default Now is the time!

Now is the time to put out any last minute wood duck boxes or clean out the ones you have. They are already going in them. I went down to my swamp the other day and they were flying in and out of trees and going in hollowed cavities! They will start to lay the end of the month!

I did a dozen on public, and doing a dozen more next weekend. Has anyone heard from DNR on the box program? I did an application, I think it was March last year.

Default If you can't wait on the DNR boxes

Or do like I did and rehab the abandoned boxes that are littered all over the waterways and abandoned. Re-purpose them, put new predator guards on and rehang them. Those 25 year old boxes will still produce!

re-purpose is such a liberal /trendy/ word- and not the correct word for your stated idea.
repair, rehab, restore, overhaul, etc all mean to return to proper working condition so it can continue to be used as designed.
re purpose means transforming an old wood duck box into something with a different purpose- like a mail box.

You're exactly right and I ain't liberal and far from trendy. Unfortunately the old abandoned wood duck boxes I've found are raising owls, squirrels, tweety's and are snake / coon feeders. Since you are one of many self appointed Grammar Police on this site folks need to REHABILITATE the 100's of abandoned wood duck boxes and stop relying on the State of SC government to provide you with your 5 box limit of prison inmate built, pinewood duck boxes with a reduced lifespan while 100's of cypress boxes litter our waterways.

    Better?

We kind of figured that out since you can't spell grammar.
