I like mixing shredded sharp cheddar and a little bit of diced thick cut bacon with the ground chuck when I pat out burgers. Then cook them on a Weber jumbo joe over some hardwood lump charcoal. The cheese and bacon melts onto the coals and gives them some good smoke and char.

I don't "smash" a damn thing, you cheap, gay sumbitches.

I make thick hamburgers with at least 20% fat, I cook them rare, and the blood runs down my wrist.

I guess we're back to boiling water here.

The pool room in edgefield has the most overpriced underwhelming burger I’ve ever had

You’re talking apples to oranges. Like two people arguing between fried thin pork chops or a thick seared one.

The thread is titled “burgers” which would mean any type of burger.

For the record I used to have the same opinion on smash burgers til I had one not from a restaurant.

Simple and I stopped off at this place right outside of Lincoln, Nebraska on our way west a couple of years back. Place was in Pleasant Dale, Nebraska and called the P-Dale Pub. "If I was from Pleasant Dale Nebraska what would I get on my hamburger?" The lady replied peanut butter and bacon. So that's what I had.

Have to say it wasn't bad but not outstanding enough to warrant a repeat performance.

I just want a pile of good quality high fat ground beef, some sort of blue cheese, a few spices, and the sharpest cheddar in the drawer on top. I don't even miss all the other bread and mess I used to drown them in.

Well if you got to be there your choice is limited, but we did find a place across from it that was really good if you like a rueben. Park Row I think was the name of it.
