    Default !!!System Check Virus!!!

Apparently I got this virus while visiting a gun forum (that I'm not a member of) just looking for information. Thought I was going to have to buy a new computer. It "erases" everything off your computer and puts up a shit ton of hard drive errors and all that crap. It's a very easy fix though. Simply restore your system. But, even after that the majority of all your files will still be hidden. You will have to go through and un-hide your files by hand. In short, this is a new virus that's out there and is getting by a lot of the anti virus'. This is a PSA to create a restore point ASAP, just in case.

It's not a virus -- it's malware. It's been around for a while now. Malwarebytes removes it nicely. You should probably do a malwarebytes scan anyway. And quit using IE..

Bub, how does Google Chrome rank in terms of security as compared to Firefox?

Chrome and Firefox are both built on Mozilla engine. Both are good (the best imo). I prefer Chrome over Firefox because it seems a little snappier to me. Chrome also does some pretty nifty little shortcuts that I really like.

The only other browser that I'd recommend is Safari for the Fruits. It works well and is built in to they're good there unless they want extension support of Firefox/Chrome.

Will firefox lessen the chances of this happening again? What are the other advantages over IE?

I recently changed to chrome over firefox to see if I liked it and noticed that it seems a bit quicker. Was just wondering about the security and you answered that. Thanks.

Yes. There are less exploits in Firefox/Chrome for malicious code to attack. Just be sure to update it when it tells you to. No point in worrying about security if you're not going to update the browser to get the security fixes.

You brothers are silly. Okay, let's go with something else. I think I have a virus on my laptop. It took away my flashplayer, and everytime I try to install one it shuts itself off. I cannot watch any videos on it or even see the gameroom.

No error message or anything? What shuts off? (computer, browser window, installation application) Any error or message before it shuts off?

Tried safe mode? If you can't in safe mode, just reinstall Windows and be done with it.

Yeah, I got USMC to mess with it in safe mode, but that didn't work.

That isn't the same thing as that boot system shit I got the other week? Damn computer wouldn't do a damn thing. My puter guru had to clean all that shit off and put the fix it on the system. I got it searching for ballistics tables for the 7mm08.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

I still cannot see a dern thing. My gracious it's making me testy. After running a few programs I can actually try to install a flash player, but when I come back when it says it's good. Nothing will play.
