Default 2020-2024 2500hd step bar tip

Long story short I have step bars on my 2500 Chevrolet due to a wife and child and the damn things were mud magnets. So bad that you couldn’t look at a dirt road without them being covered. After a little research the brackets for a 1500 truck will give you a lot more clearance with no modifications, switched both sides in under 20 minutes total. Top is before, bottom after. Hope this helps someone.

They’re really nice until one gets stuck in the down position.

What’s the verdict on the new gas offering from GM? How’s it compare against the 7.3 gas on the Ford?

    Would Saltydog approve?

Everything is nice until it stops working. The steps that close to the bottom of the door jam suck for getting in and out and will dirty up a pair of pants.

Never driven the ford so I can’t compare but I like it so far and it’s pulled everything I hooked behind it without an issue.

I was just posting a tip for people that use their trucks like trucks and need a little more clearance. They work great in the new position and I drove ten miles of muddy dirt road yesterday and they don’t collect mud anymore.

Take 'em off and help your wife get in the truck as needed. You're welcome.

Where did you get the brackets?

I’ve owned the electric ones and wife currently has them on her 1500 and I haven’t had a problem yet, but I want to be cheap and not buy them.

Weathertech no drill mud flaps. I have used these on my past several trucks.

It definitely looks better without the gap.

I would personally go with the Yosemite Sam flaps.

(but if you get mud flaps, i think yosemite sam is a good choice)

If I ever move to Berkeley county I will definitely put some looney tunes themed mud flaps on my truck. That’s definitely a Moncks Corner thing.

Swap those stock Ranchos for some Bilstein 5100s while you're at it. I put a set on dads duramax last week because three of his shocks were blown at 40k miles.
