I don’t think we are supposed to say gay either. I think the term is homosexual now.

Well in that case, I bought one from academy the other month to lose in North Dakota putting out decoys , it’s still working good and I haven’t lost it yet. It was $20 and it’s bright as hell. Im also not going to be mad when I finally do lose the damn thing. I like my Stream light rechargeable stinger and Nebo rechargeable for tracking deer. Please lord don’t use a light to get to and from a Deerstand…….

I use a $35 Braun rechargeable from harbor freight. It’s been a good light. Comes with extra battery also.

If you are organized and can keep up with it, go higher end. If you are like me and can never find the damn thing when you need it, buy a bunch of cheaper, AAA powered ones so you'll have a better chance of bumping into one of them when you need it. I don't know brands, but that's my advice. Oh...best advice of all...do not use a headlamp or a flashlight going into or coming out of the woods for deer hunting. Thank me later.

“Duck hunting gives a man a chance to see the loneliest places …blinds washed by a rolling surf, blue and gold autumn marshes, …a rice field in the rain, flooded pin-oak forests or any remote river delta. In duck hunting the scene is as important as the shooting.” ~ Erwin Bauer, The Duck Hunter’s Bible, 1965

I just carry a flashlight in my pocket and know where all my crap is.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

    I have 2 of these.

    https://www.surefire.com/maximus/

Bought them for $200ish each. That was easily 6+ years ago.

I likely have worn and used headlamps more than most people you will ever meet. I've owned everything mentioned in here at one point. Today all I have are these 2 and a petzl zipka to get in/out of the treestand with.

Yep. Ease in ninja style, you ain’t going to get attacked, it’s not a war zone. Besides you got a gun. Those SC Deer Hunter posts on FB talking about coyotes stalking people trip me out. Guys strapped with 4 mags, pistol on the hip with extra mags on their belt and a dang K-bar. I got stalked Bo, pigs/coyotes/panthers/dogs/some other BS.

Only thing you need a light for deer hunting is tracking one after dark. I keep a big Milwaukee battery light for that. Haven’t used it in a while.
