I exercised a fair amount of restraint in not responding to this post for a while. It helped that I appreciated that it came from a place of ignorance (in the true meaning of the word-not a criticism). I will simply state this. Every lawyer is his own man or woman. As is every teacher, nurse, accountant, landscaper, and butcher. To generalize is only to highlight your own ignorance. As a lawyer, I know hundreds. There are a few that meet your generalized description- the vast majority do not. I do not. There are many on this forum that could sound off here about the advice or service I have provided them- there would not be a single one who agrees with your broad characterization as it relates to me. I hope you never have a business partner who screws you over for a few hundred grand. I hope you are not a professional who has a BS claim made against your license. I hope you are not a business owner who gets sued by a competitor because you didn’t realize you were violating his trademark. If any of those things happen, I wish you well without a lawyer’s assistance. I will put my work ethic, morals, and character up against anyone, any time, in any setting. And I am a lawyer. Well stated. Folks have no freaking clue how quick you can end up in litigation. Happened to me years ago over a good friend I eat lunch with and hunt with , nothing more. BS suit filed by a true ambulance chaser (he died 2 years ago and I have to admit we all had comments I will not post here ).

My buddy was sued by his former employer and joke was on the employer due to all the paperwork/CPA audits for bonding purposes, etc that tracked every little thing He turned around and got a huge judgement by his attorney against former employer (that he will never collect )

Still happens easier than you think

Who do you think makes those fucked up laws? Lawyers turned politicians mostly to benefit themselves. Slimy motherfuckers looking to somehow get a hand in everyone’s pocket. You may not all be shitheels, but I will say that 100% of the ones I’ve had personally dealings with are some of the slimiest pieces of shit it’s ever been my displeasure to be around, and 100% fit my descriptions.
