Are these things all created equal?
Thoughts? Do you use one?

They work awesome after you figure out how.
I don't understand how it works
Works like a champ. The heck with pulling up several hundred feet of anchor, chain and rope.
No, they aren’t all created equal. Those round small ones work for small chain and anchors. I’ve busted many of those small/medium balls with what I run. The Ultra Low Drag ULD buoys work a lot better and stay straight on the drag to float everything up. I also run about 3’ of scope on the ball rode and ring set.
YouTube some videos, Sellsfish, Paul Godbout out of Charleston had a good one on there a while back. And shorten your scope up before you start a pull especially in marginal seas or you’ll end up with line wrapped in the props.
I wouldn’t surface an anchor any other way unless it’s mashing a button.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.
You might take out a dozen before they drag you from your home and skull fuck you to death. Marsh Chicken 6/21/2013
The stainless ring makes a difference too depending on your tackle.
Makes anchors more fun.

I use one just like that all the time, need to match the size of the ball with the size of your anchor.
I can bring mine over one day and show you if you want me to.
Get the trolling motor with the spot hold GPS thing - wow.

Those retrieval systems are a damn lifesaver when in deep water with a wife and kid. I don't know why I waited so long to buy one.
Got mine lat year for our trip in the OB and used it several times. I was surprised that I "mastered" it on the 1st attempt.

They work great until you truly hang your anchor on some solid structure!

Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.
