Picked up 3 that I applied for. Asked if there were extras and was told no. Then said my friend (true story) applied and was selected last year but couldn’t come during the week for pickup.
Guy that was helping me said oh, well I have some from last year in the shed out back if you want three of those. Said ok... identical to the ones I had just gotten and still like new w guards as well. So there are boxes laying around I guarantee.

Just picked up 3 boxes today. They had 2 pallets of boxes. So they must be staggering the delivery dates.

They were getting the prison at Boykin to build them. Not sure if that's still their source.

The prison folks bailed out a couple years back. A company out of Greenville or G'wood built them this year I believe. Roy's cabinets in Lugoff built them last year. I really like the screw fastening on this years boxes! I'd be willing to bet they predrilled them before screwing. Nothing seemed split where fastened. I always drill and screw them if they're nailed together, this year they should be good to go!

I picked up 3 today. Hate I missed seeing some of y'all. Connected with Johnny Reb tho which was great to meet him!
Listen to your elders. Not because they are always right but because they have more experiences of being wrong.

I made a comment that they seemed like prisoners must not have made these and he just kind of laughed but neither confirmed nor denied

Guy at Florence also confirmed that this year's round of boxes were not assembled by prison labor. General consensus was that didn't work out so well.

Picked up three boxes today from Florence DNR! Shout out to all the low life common MFers that applied and were assigned to these free boxes that wouldn’t show up to pick them up. I find that unbelievable. They had probably 3 pallets of unclaimed boxes left. Miss Ginger that works up at the Florence office said she called these people multiple times and pretty much begged them to pick up their boxes. I hope DNR kept a list of all the people who didn’t pick up boxes, they should be permanently kept off any future offerings.

I was emailed a while back saying I didn't make the cut, so if anyone close has 1 or 2 extra I'd be appreciative.

Cole, ride by one of the offices or give them a call. If they have them they will give them out I am sure. I think I mentioned in one of my first posts that I grabbed my 3 this year plus 3 for a friend who didn’t get his last year due to work constraints.
When I asked, initially I was told no. Then the guy said well actually we have some left from last year in the shed. Went and grabbed three of them and they looked identical to the ones from this year....

If that's a question, you should be able to pick them up in Clemson.
