    Default 16 and a Button

Killed it this afternoon after my dog bayed it near my garden. One of the biggest I’ve ever killed. Left his head and about 5” of neck in the field edge. 2nd one I’ve seen in the past few weeks. 1st one was bigger and got away.

I killed one last week with 19 and after I picked it up and threw it in my truck, I realized there were only 4. Walked back to where it met the shovel and the other 14 were sitting there in 2 pieces, each with a pointed button end. I didn't know they shed their rattles like that, but apparently they do. Normally I don't mess with them, but this was right where I park to walk in to my stand. Skinned him and deep fried him. Needed a soak in buttermilk to soften the meat up, but was pretty good with some cajun batter.

When a commoner tells you they gave a venomous snake a pass, that means they were to scared to kill it. Know that

Last time I saw one crossing the road, I blocked traffic and hurried him across the road,..while a passer-by begged me to kill him. He was a small one.

I mounted one years ago that had 21 and a button. Had a break-in at my office and that's all they stole. Monitored alarm and siren going off while he stole it.

Would've been a good one next year

Nice killin, that is a big snake!
Unlike CD, I was coming down hwy 24 a few years ago, two lanes out in the middle of nowhere and saw a commotion ahead.
I slow down and see cars stopped and people gathered. I walk up there and a huge rattler is coiled up in the middle
of the road and three or four old folks (really old) say to me, "have you got anything in your truck to kill a snake with?"
    I shit you not
I said, "I think so" and walked back to my truck. I came back with my AR15 pistol and said, "yall stand behind me" and
I commenced to cutting him into pieces. The old folks looked at me like I was from outter space as I didn't say a word, got back in my truck and drove
down the ditch and went around them. I look in my rearview and they were waving bye to me

From putting a gun to the head of the man that stole his 4-wheeler to cutting a rattler into piece on the highway with an AR-15

    Default 16 and a Button

While skinning it out today I realized that wasn’t a button but a connection piece to the rest of its rattles. I guess it lost them somewhere before our encounter.

EDIT: I’m wrong. That is it’s button.

I don’t always kill them but Genesis 3:15 explains it pretty well.

Only thing I was afraid of was my young children crossing paths with it in my yard.
