IC. Shot my last limit with a skeet choke and 7/8 oz powder puff target reloads. They’re pretty easy to kill if you can pick your shots.

3 pages discussing choke selection for a dove? If you haven't figured this out by now you are probably heading "back to the shitter" again this dove season regardless of the choke you choose.
Fish or Gander would be who I would ask but since they already told me to use the more open choke I don't have to ask.

Skeet for the under, Lt Mod for the over during early season. Skeet for the under, Im Mod for the over during Dec/Jan.
Sticking to the parameters of the OP’s question. The answer is a modified choke. You can shoot birds further than with an Improved cylinder choke and you can still shoot them point blank range if you wish. I have an old 1100 with a fixed modified barrel that I love to shoot dove with. That being said my go to gun and the one I shoot the best dove hunting is my Citori with Lt Modified chokes in the top and bottom.
order a carlson light mod and never worry about chokes again
I can drop birds with improved cylinders at disrespectful distances.
So it's Monday morning sassy time
haha, I don't pay attention if I grab someones else's gun.. like if it was the closest one to me and the end of a hunt, and it hasn't been blown off yet.. or those weak moments when you don't care.
Not when y'all go missing every other one
i am not like some of these people. I am not about to say that is a good or bad thing....
but i just dont worry about this and sure as hell aint gonna carry two chokes to switch out. just shoot the silly little bird. if you miss a lot, you suck.
it really is that simple.
Ugh. Stupid people piss me off.
I think a lot of it has to do in shooting with what you are confident in (mental game).
I shot clays with two guys this past Thursday night on the summer league at NWTF. One changed chokes every other station, one never changed chokes at all. They both shot a 48/50. Choke constriction seemed to matter greatly to one shooter but no so much the other and the end results were the same.
I wasn't talking about you.. I just like to be argumentative to be argumentative sometimes.
You need to come over and shoot some doves with Palmer and I before she gets too old, and Teige.. we have some, not shooting opening weekend though.
