At this point in my life I don’t care about clearing the lake. What i do care about is I’m outside by the fire and only have 4 more pieces of firewood

In the context of new development opportunities, what does "Private. Developed. even mean?"

We had a pothole pop up on my street two weeks ago about the size of a hubcap. It's already got two docks, 4 condos and a marina on it. If you think remoteness is going to keep out the development then you need to pass it to the left and take a break.

Or that a long row of shitboxes built 30 years ago won't be bought, bulldozed and made into McMansions in a heartbeat...

It means money can be waived in the face of someone and they have the right to sell. Big developments take time as they go around buying property after property. The first one goes cheap and they get more expensive at each sale as the master plan starts coming together. Whatcha know about the Cliffs

Not like isle of palms. That’s impossible on Marion.

Still waiting to hear about all these benefits. I’m intrigued now.

Getting to live in a nice enough house on deep water near the North Edisto river instead of Sullivans?

You’ve been around the lakes long enough. You know what it means.
    But for those that don’t....

The areas mentioned under “private developed” - that means that these areas are already developed per-say.
Quarter to half acre lots to private citizens on a 99 year renewable lease from Santee Cooper.

Very few waterfront homes, lots, or land are outright owned by private citizens on lake Marion. Those that are, are via legal agreements met, exempt from the eminent domain cases that took place in the 1930s.
Most are long term, renewable leases from the state.

My intentions were to find exactly where this new development was to take place, because as Catdaddy pointed out.... we are just about maxed out.

That said, I would love to hear from some upstate dude, who came down here on a gator tag.....once, exactly how moving some rotting timber in the dead forest will turn the booming metropolis of Eutawville, into Mount Pleasant.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.
