When you first quoted me I thought you were being sarcastic.I agree with that 100%. If, however, he was pulling his wallet or CWP out or reaching for it as he informed officer of gun...
and then tried to explain what he was reaching for and stated he was not pulling his gun out as officer makes assumption that, despite having just asked him for license and insurance, he was instead pulling his gun that he calmly admitted having without even being asked...then it was an overreaction and a bad shooting. The guy messed up by trying to comply with officers first requests while simultaneously trying to do right and inform him of his carry status...real life speed and circumstances...edgy cop freaked and shot despite never, ever being in any sort of danger. I understand it, but it was a mistake by a professional that resulted in death...not a justified shooting.
A lot of people are carrying and have never thought about how a traffic stop should or will go down...never once thought this scenario could happen to them. I've thought about it, but not to the extent that I have since seeing this video, and how I always thought about handeling it was not nearly as thought out and on point as what Duck Cutter just described.
Castile certainly didn't think enough about it, ran into the wrong cop, and lost his life trying to do the right thing at a traffic stop for a burned out light bulb.
