    Default NE Arkansas frozen hunt

Made our way up here Sunday and got in around 3:30pm. Ended up hoping in the truck with the owner of the lodge to take the dog for a run and meet some locals and have a few beverages. There was 5” of ice on the back roads and all the fields were still frozen up and had been for over a week.

Monday morning we get a small hole open about the size of a truckbed and watch one of the best sunrises i have ever witnessed. We managed a 16 bird mixed bag shoot but the birds just didn’t seem to be up and moving.

Tuesday poured piss out of a bucket allday long but we ended up having 2 birds short of a 6 man limit with 7 guns and had 2 snows decoy in one of which being an Eagle head phase.

Wednesday was the most fog I have ever seen and didn’t burn off the whole day. Never experienced that before. We scratched out a 21 mixed bag of mallards, teal, shovlers and gadwall. Seen a ton of pintails but the didn’t work for crap.

Now it’s time for a long ass ride back home but it was a heck of a good time with some good guys and way to much bourbon.
