Oh my.
Just dig up some of the last threads.
Folks on here like Boggster want an are actively striving to achieve what you want.
I an folks like me whom are in the minority in here but the majority in the real world love the way the lake is being run an want to see more private ponds an endevours.
There could be a blending of ideas if the grass could be kept behind the 95 bridge a comprimise if you will.
The private impoundments are hated by the likes of Willy worm.
I absolutely love them.
They offer up micro niches to test an prove theories as well as contain those theories an allow for money to be made by those willing to put the hard work an effort into creating wildlife paradises.
These are the cliff notes.
That magnifying glass is your friend.
There have been some rather lovely debates on the matter.
Duct Tape is working to try an get more balance in the lake.
I've spoken at length on several occasions with him an while we have differing opinions I admire his love a devotion to trying to do what he thinks is right.
If anyone has changed my mind at all it has been him.
Other wise I'm still

The hell with a tamie pond.
What's a "tamie" pond??
Cliff notes version...lake was built by santee cooper for power generation. A lot of people like to hunt and fish, but more people (at least more vocal ones) like the lake the way it is. There is and has been an aquatic management plan and it gets reviewed every year or so.
There has been a lot of discussion on here about this subject so do a little searching and you will find out just about everything has been discussed
I hate it ...but its long gone boys . The culture has been divided into two groups . Too little...Too late .
I used to drink like a fish and run like a dog
Done a whole lotta shit not permitted by law
People call me the Picasso of painting the town
I feel like I belong to both cultures. Got too little and born too late.
DILLIGAF
That is the story that is told to the public, but is not true. In 2009, less than 2% of the electricity produced by Santee Cooper was from hydroelectricity. That lake was part of the WPA which was part of The New Deal.
http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php/Santee_CooperIn 2009 Santee Cooper had a total 6,104 MW of electric generating capacity and purchased power and had peak demand of 5590MW. Of the electricity it generated in 2009, Santee Cooper produced 80.856% from coal, 8.42% from natural gas, 8.84% from nuclear, .08% from oil, 1.74% from hydroelectricity, and 0.35% from landfill methane. All of Santee Cooper's power plants are in South Carolina.[6] In 2009 Santee Cooper sold 25.8 gigawatt hours of electricity and earned $1.7 billion in revenue.[2]
There are countless dirt roads that lead to nowhere all over this country that were part of that project, and just as many ditches.

as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.

I did but reading comprehension is way over rated.
An mention a private endeavor.
Omg the rich are plundering a resource.
No where in this entire debacle is it ever mentioned that these private endevours are responsible for far greater stab-ability of the resource this dang page is named after than any inept government agency.

Bog's definitely leading the charge on the constituent side and DT appears to be leading it from the legislative side. And I applaud both for their efforts and regret not doing more to support them. I need to step up on that.
You and the people who are content with the lakes in their current state are part of the problem.
But since it's impossible I'm gonna continue to oppose any more carp for a long damn time.
Hate is such a strong word. I told you this before. I don't hate them, I just don't think they'll be the single thing that saves duck hunting in South Carolina, contrary to your mindset. I also believe the duck ponds are what is responsible for the spread of the dark religion that has become tamie releasing.
Is micro-niche even a word? You make it sound like duck ponds are their own littoe ecosystems.
what theories are they testing and proving, exactly?
As he should, cause the landowners on the banks of S-C lakes seem to have the loudest voice, yet represent the vast minority of the lakes users.
Big surprise there...
You mean private?
And screw the carp
My mom used to say this: you either get it, or you don't. You just don't seem to get it.

Delta in a nutshell: Breeding grounds + small wetlands + big blocks of grass cover + predator removal + nesting structures + enough money to do the job= plenty of ducks to keep everyone smiling!
