Default 2015 Silverado Acrive Fuel Management

    103k miles

Cyl 4 has a dead cyl. Note the rocker arm not moving. Dropped a lifter or a lifter collapsed rather, wiped out the cam.

Cust decided to go back with a full mechanical delete. Solid lift lifters and cam with a tune to follow.

Whatever program/electrical AFM removal you did on mine has been great.

Whats the cost to fix this when it goes wrong? Wife has been looking at Suburbans. I told her to ditch that idea and look for Yukon XL’s with a 6.2.

Careful on your search...6.2s in Denalis received AFM in the 09-10 transition.

    That’s about $4300.00

Little more complicated on the 2014 and newer.

Have you ever had a deleted back in for this problem? As in, a vehicle that was deleted after it already had a lot of miles on it.

    No sir.

I don’t post as much as I use too, but I assure you if I had a 14 or newer, Id cut off AFM and delete the trans cooler thermostat yesterday.

Depends on the year. I believe 2018 calls for 4 creds to tune out AFM
So 2014-2017 is 285 for trans delete and 200 for AFM delete

2018 and newer is 400.00 AFM and 285 trans

10 speed GM trans does not have a cooler t-stat. Learned hard way on that.

Typical 6L80 or 8 speed 4wd trans replacement is 4500.00 ish with programming.

No doubt about it I would too, definitely wasn't questioning you in that regard. Was thinking more about how safe it was to buy a used model with the wear and tear already present. Sounds like it's generally OK as long as you get it deleted ASAP.

KRT - was fixing to ask about cost but see that in your post above. Did you happen to notice any carbon build up on the intake valves?

Don't you have some 16 gauge shells to hunt for? Or a model 12? Or possibly a 2th to fill?

Quit messing with them and do some learnin’ on the 7.3l. I’m thinking of long pipe headers in mine with a cam and supercharger. Just because 700hp sounds fun.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.
