Cotton-are doing it all wrong- shoot that no brow tine buck first chance you get. Gets the buck itch over and hopefully keeps him from breeding. My old dog club was ate up with bucks without brow tines. Same as a 120lb cow horn- shoot him first chance. We weren't allowed to shoot a cow horn still hunting and I had one on my corn for 3 straight years that was over 150lbs.

Every buck I’ve ever killed was made out of meat. The ones that fit on the grill whole are the most tender.

I really hope I never make it more complicated than that for myself.

My criteria for if it isn't a really good rack and gets shot:
    1) am I feeling too lazy to clean it or take it to the processor that particular day
    2) If I shoot it, will it mess up my getting home in time for the football game
    3) Do I know someone that wants some meat and I can just drop it off to them

Note: many a deer have lived because of these guidelines

So, the first weekend of December must always be a good kill opportunity for you then...

Good thing about being a cock lover is you have plenty of time to hunt during the second half.
