Amazing how many people live and die without knowing that pleasure, not to mention fresh Clams Casino...
I thought the whole point of having kids was to get them to do the stuff you don’t want to. Cleaning scallops sounds like one of those things. Show them how, then kick back with beverage of choice. Call wife to retrieve scallops and prepare. Take beverage of choice with you to table and feast.

I grew up in Port St Joe. Scalloping was a highlight of my youth.
Excuse my ignorance but can this be done here locally or whats the closest place?

Heading down to Crystal River with some friends in a week and half. Shall see how it goes.
My parents used to take us to Hommassa Springs when I was 9-11. It will always stick in my head the size of the bass and the clear water.
Gettin old is for pussies! AND MY NEW TRUE people say like Capt. Tom >>>>>>>>>/

I'll be taking my family down there in a couple of years when my girls get a couple of years older and can appreciate it. Never been and it is on my "family fun bucket list" trips.
My wife’s sorority sister lives in cedar key Florida and has been wanting to go down for a visit. Can you fellas with some scalloping experience educate me a little? I’ve been wanting to do this for sometime now but never have gotten serious about it. Where do I need to go and what all will it require? Thanks for any help.
U serious Clark?

Grass flats in about three feet of water. They have many bright blue eyes. Sometimes they will try to swim away from you.
Going next month for the first time. I'm a little leery as I have seen one too many shows during Shark Week that involve someone with a sack full of shellfish and subsequently one less appendage.
