    Default Rare Bird

Got very lucky this weekend on a public land, out of state hunt. I called in two long beards and one of them was a little different. It was something I never dreamed of happening to me as they were walking through the hardwoods together. I began to realize what was happening as they walked into gun range and got really excited. My first shot missed him and I was extremely lucky to have made a good second shot while he was flying and didn’t damage the feathers at all. Not a single speck of black on him, just pure white with normal head, long beard, and feet. The spurs and toenails were white. Seeing that black long beard between two white breasts is something I’ll never forget!

Beautiful bird, deserves to be a full body mount.

Looks too small to be a farm bird.

Nice Gobbler. I seem to recall someone from here killing a wild white one several years ago on the Francis Marion that was miles back in the forest .

I used a long bow and I just ripped the beard off and saved a couple feathers.

In all seriousness, I did use TSS 9’s and I will be doing a full body mount since the bird was in perfect condition and didn’t have a touch of dirt on him. Decided to do a flying mount.

Gun was in my lap and I had to bring it up to swing on them. I would’ve brought it up sooner but I could hear them walking in the leaves close by and didn’t want to get busted pre maturely.
