    Default Pad hull flats boat

I know the back country boats and the rangers which are the same molds have a pad hull, but are there any others that aren't outrageously expensive. A lake and bay hull is like 40k. I'm trying to find a 17-19ft flats boat that will run in the mid 60s unloaded, but I don't want to spend more than around 20k. Does anyone know if the Maverick and hewes hulls have a pad?

Maverick is a V and Hewes is slightly rounded unless it's an older one. Then it is a V like on the Bayfisher. Good luck finding one in that range. Your best bet would be a 2000 - 2005 Action Craft. Still probably won't hit 60 unless you over motor it. A 19 Ranger Cayman will do it all day long but you are gonna pay for it. A Sterling will also get it done but pricey.

That's what I figured too. I'm ok with an older Hull that's been repowered, but they are hell to find. Absolutely love the sterling boats, but most I find are in the mid 30 range. I found a ranger cayman or I think it was a cayman can't remember. It had a 150 Yamaha on it but I read some bad reviews about porpoising

Back Country all the way. Pm Griffin he wants to sell his and buy a SCB or a lake and bay. Griffin has a 201, mine is a 161

My boat will be getting a 150 pro xs soon as I have the funds.

A 161 with a 150pro xs. That's pretty legit. How much does the pro xs weight. I know the 90 Yamaha weighs 366 dry. And what kind of speed are you expecting?

Excel makes a mean ass flats boat with a pad for low 20's I do believe. They are called the Bay Pro.

    Edit: Excel, not Xpress

I was the same way, but I don't have as many days off now, so I can't pick and chose my days of fishing in perfect weather anymore. And I like to go fast

Hard but doable! Won't get much money, half the reason I bought this one, was I can resell this 90 4 stroke for a pretty good bit with less than 300 hours.

this is the other one. The guy owns a marine shop in Florida, but doesn't have the equipment to read the hours. Also, its is almost impossible to find the nada worth of the boat. The hulls were hand laid and there are only a 30 or so in existence. Cant find anything bad about them, but still kind questionable. Talked to the owner and he said the boat will run like lows 70s completely unloaded. Loaded to fish he says mid 60s

Haha man I wouldn't do that to you. I'll be in the market for a new boat this winter more than likely.
