I mentioned posting some pictures of a Tikka build a while back. Between duck season, lack of daylight, and rain it has been a struggle to get some shooting in but as promised here it is. I built it for myself off a factory Tikka T3 action. The ejection port was then milled to drop it a total of .175”. The bolt face was opened up from standard to magnum (they claim this cannot be done), the action face was turned to accept a 1.2” tenon, and a lighter spring was added to the trigger. As far as machine work for accuracy nothing was done to the action. The modifications were made solely for functional purposes.
Then added a proof sendero lite carbon barrel that was chambered using a JGS reamer designed to my specifications specifically to shoot the 156 grain Berger EOL. Everything was then dropped into a Manners EH1 and not bedded never bed a tikka). MDT bottom metal and mag.
After some load development it settled in on 3020 FPS with an SD of 6 and an ES of 11. I’ll refrain from posting the load data for various reasons. It has proven to be one of the most accurate guns I’ve ever owned.
