Looking at new trucks and am trying to decide between this Duramax engine or the 5.3L. Was wondering if anyone has any experience with this Duramax and what feedback you may have. Thanks!

Psalm 42:1 "As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God."
Going on two months and 3,000 miles. I have been very happy with the truck. For hunting, driving, and occasionally towing it has been great!

I want a white at4 with the duramax
They seem to get way better fuel mileage than the 5.3 or the 6.2
I’m getting 22-30 depending on start stop
I have a start/stop eliminator on mine so it does not shut off unless I turn it off. Pulling a 6x12 trailer loaded I average 21 mpg. Regular driving with no towing I get 24-25. On my trip to Myrtle Beach from Turbeville I got 27. Other than eliminator everything is factory Silverado RST 4WD Z71
Psalm 42:1 "As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God."
love mine. averaged 29.1 mpg on a 400 mile trip this weekend. 2" leveling kit, but otherwise stock.
How could a grown man say that he owns a diesel that has a timing belt? Not only does it have a timing belt but it’s on the back of the engine. Transmission has to come out.
All the justification of fuel mileage etc is gone once you have to replace the timing belt.

More fuel = more boost!!
Speculation is the oil belt will be resdeisgned on the 2023 - LZ0 engine. But rumored of cylinder deactivation.
My sales guy has told me several times the auto stop function will be optional.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.
You might take out a dozen before they drag you from your home and skull fuck you to death. Marsh Chicken 6/21/2013
My wifes 2018 Tahoe gets 25 mpg on the way to the beach.
More fuel = more boost!!
