    Default Columbia Family Practice Dr.

I know I'll probably regret this, but does anyone have a recommendation on one in Columbia? The closer to Forest Acres, the better.

After going to the same one for 20 years, he finally retired. His office was great up until the last 5 years or so, when he joined up with Prisma. It then became a numbers game. They took in a pile of new patients and the customer service went sideways. Are there any left that aren't affiliated with the conglomerate's? Also, if I can help it, I really want one that doesn't always prescribe a pill to fix everything . That's one the reasons we liked our old one, he would always try to go the non medication route first. Am I looking for a unicorn?

Dt. Joan Hernandez with USC medicine in Forrest Acers. My father has been a family practice doc for 40 years. He recommended Dr. Hernandez do me. He has a great personality and bed side manner. I’ve sent many people to him.

As my brother stated above he did part of med school requirements at my dads office. He begged him to stay in rural medicine and work at his office in saluda. He didn’t want to live in a rural area though, most don’t these days.
