    Default Kids activities/sports?

With summer coming and baseball ending in a month or so what are some of the things yalls kids are doing? We fish a lot on the weekends and mess around the woods out back a lot but my 6 and soon to be 5 year old could use something else to be involved in. I've mentioned boxing, wrestling, archery, skeet shooting, horseback riding, you name it.

What's some things yalls kids enjoy doing?

Every child is different. What they may be in love with today could be old news next week. I don’t have a good answer other than give them as many options as possible.

If I could go back to that age knowing what I now know, I’d enroll in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu without question.

Jiu jitsu and swimming. Nothing wrong with wrestling. I've been amazed by the balance and core strength developed through those two sports. I just started rolling at 38 due to my oldest (just turned 7) getting into Jiu jitsu.

Not trying to sound red-neck or like I want to raise a bunch of troublemakers but I would love for them to be able to defend themselves maybe one day. Also I've heard those type things teach a lot of discipline.

We have tee ball ending next week.

We will hunt dinosaurs and coyotes with some fishin in between until deer season.

Of course he has to get a day off of work. Him, Terry the Trex, and Spiny the Spinosaurus work 7 days week at the sawmill, farm, construction site, and concrete plant.

25-30 years ago, I would have said cub/boy scouts. But not now. Put them in wrestling. You think Tball is a trip, watch 2 4-5 yr olds trying to execute a takedown.

Again, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. There are always outliers, but every adult I’ve ever met who is skilled in it has been extremely calm and nice.

Royce Gracie is a great example of what BJJ can do for the little guy.

I got one about to start summer workouts for middle school football. My youngest son is probably going to tag along with me and do some work during the week

Cross country. Got to get him ready for baseball season.

I enjoyed taking martial arts as a kid. BJJ seems to be the thing these days.

Met Royce a couple months ago, I didn’t know who he was. I had him shooting my rifle out past 1000 in no time. Someone finally told me who he was after a while. He was one of the nicest and humble guys you’d ever want to meet.

When I see that one nasty fucker, toenails that have fungus under them and could climb a tree with them, walking through the gym, makes me realize why rolling around on a mat with another man doesn't sound appealing.
Archery,. If you suck it's cause you suck. Not a team sport. They can use those skills to kill for food and kill zombies, and nasty fuckers.

Golf if they got patience for it. One of the best thing I ever did for my flimsy athletic career was take karate for a few years. Discipline is great. But it improved my coordination and aggressiveness exponentially. Don’t know how much actual karate it was. Lot of lessons were instructor putting 30 minutes on a timer, lighting a cigarette, and me and another kid whipping on each others ass. If you got them down and they tapped, reset and start again. It’s been recommended plenty thus far, and I concur. One on one fighting is good for everyone
