I done the same thing a couple weeks ago. I wasnt even running it low but caught a rock and rolled it over into the blades. Busted 1 blade and busted the pto seal when the shaft jumped off from the violent vibration afterwards.

Had to order a blade bolt this morning after wrecking one trying to get a broken blade off yesterday. That time of year...
I was making good progress riding along listening to Chris Stapleton and thinking about shooting a deer with my bow, when all hell broke loose. Thought I’d run over a claymore mine. I’ve cut that spot many times before and never hit anything.
You can never be too careful. Glad I had extra blades in my shop!

I bet that sounded wonderful.
Hit one years ago and had to have the hog rebuilt due to broken shaft. That hurt!

If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever.
Missing you my great friend.
I got off cheap today
Mine usually break near the mounting hole or the u-joints.
I've only heard it from a distance. Never from on the tractor.
Bumping this one back up because it happened again today. I was cutting my roads and cleaning up the edges of an old field in preparation for the season. I caught the top of an old hardwood stump. The bad thing was I saw this one and thought I had lifted the cutter up enough to miss it. The good in it, other than putting new blades on, was getting my Grandpa’s old heavy duty S-K tools out to swap the blades out. It brought back some great memories of a hard working man. They sure don’t make tools like they used to. These are over 50 years old and Made in the USA.

Are you sure they didn’t come from Walmart?

More fuel = more boost!!
Here comes the tool police
Yeah...you are probably correct. Walmart or Harbor Freight...
Nope. My grandpa and his brothers owned a hardware/general store in the PeeDee area for 40+ years in addition to farming. Many of the tools he gave me came from there and still had the price tag on them.

Y’all need to adjust your clutches.
I broke a blade in half today, bush hog started shaking like hell, went another 40 ft and barely clipped the edge of a stump with my right front rim. Bent the rim and left me stranded. Figured my best bet was to leave the tractor where she sat, take my wheel off and go home and live to fight another day.
John is that a land pride?
