Negative. Everyone knew, especially after the honky qb for maryland had 1900 yards rushing in one game against the Tigers, that they couldn't stop a mobile qb or a "spread" offense. Dabo did have a "disagreement in philosophy" when that is the case. Conman shaw had 298 yards rushing at halftime against the Clemson D.

Bottom line, when your defense gives up 63 points in a bcs bowl game, there are going to be changes.........yes man or not.

I love to see coots telling it like they think it is at CU.

If they had no talent, how did they hold VT to 13 points in two games?

You don't do that without talent.

Inconsistency, poor fundamentals, bad game plans against the option and spread offenses is what got Steele Canned.

There are at a minimum 3 NFL draft picks on that defense. Thompson, Branch, and Sensabaugh.

4 and 5 star LBs and DBs.

    The talent is there.

Give me an energetic hard ass that EXPECTS and DEMANDS fundamentals (tackling, hustle, pursuit angles, assignment football) and the CU defense will be fine.

I agree with . OU led Big 12 in scoring defense. Isn't that how you determine who wins? Give up fewer and score more? I like the hire myself - just because blood is thicker than water don't mean he's not a good coach.

You are right, I am a coot. But I am also a coot with season tickets to CLemson, and probably went to 4 or 5 this year. So I saw alot of CLemson football.

Bottom line is... no team with great talent gives up 63 points, or even 34 points to USC who didnt have a very good offense when Lattimore got hurt.

Dont give me this 4 star and 5 star crap. If you go back and look over the last 4 or 5 years how many of the top 20 prospects nationally in each class have amounted to anything I think you will be suprised. Tackles and turnovers arent made on rivals100.com. Experts are wrong, and some players dont develop.

Offered DC positions at WVU, K State, and Clemson this year alone. Interest from Auburn and Tennessee. Has been a finalist for several big time DI program head jobs. (Clemson, Kansas, UCLA, Texas A&M).

Stoops did everything he could to keep him.

The Oklahoma drill was in place before Venables discovered America.

From what I've read, it is a good hire. The defense can not get any worse.

I think you will see improvements, but any D coordinator is going to struggle with the offense Klempson is running.

I think TCU led the Big 12 in almost every defensive category.

They were ranked #30th best defense in the country. Oklahoma comes in at #40.
