This year is bitter sweet. I lost my dad in February. In 35 years I have not missed an opener sitting beside him. Some great hunts, some just listening to football on his radio and eating a pack of nabs. September will be the hardest month for me since he passed, but my 6 year old daughter and I will be sitting by a hay bale Saturday afternoon, and this year I am carrying my dads Wingmaster. He will be with me in spirit. I hope I miss the first couple birds just so I can say “damn, this gun ain’t worth a shit” I’ve heard that 1,000 times, as I waited for him to warm up and start folding birds shot after shot. So let’s hear it boys, what are you carrying Saturday. If your the praying type, toss one up for me Saturday. I’m really struggling!

Them that don't know him won't like him, and them that do sometimes won't know how to take him
He ain't wrong, he's just different, and his pride won't let him do things to make you think he's right
They don't put Championship rings on smooth hands

I'm going to break in a Browning camo Cynergy I picked up earlier this year. It's a heavy gun and I had to add some more weight in the stock to try to get it to balance a little better. Now it's around 8.5 lbs. It's the opposite end of the weight and length spectrum from my usual dove gun, a 20 gauge Citori Upland Special.
