Man and other animals were first vegetarians; then Noah and his sons were given permission to eat meat: “every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you” Genesis 9:3
"A man may not care for golf and still be human, but the man who does not like to see, hunt, photograph or otherwise outwit birds or animals is hardly normal. He is supercivilized, and I for one do not know how to deal with him." Aldo Leopold
Dumb idea that has not worked anywhere. People will begin breeding them for the bounty.

Anything Goldfinch comes up with is a stupid idea. He needs to be voted out.
I wish I could breathe life back in him, if I could I'd hunt him again tomorrow. - Ben Rodgers Lee

Choot em
This is an unsolvable problem, unless they put us rant shooters on them yotes.
Either write things worth reading, or do things worth writing.
This is dumb. Hope it doesn’t pass
This has been proven to not work over and over again. Coyotes are here, and they are here to stay. Many studies have shown that shooting coyotes actually have positive population affects as the coyotes from neighboring move in to fill the void. It creates a "predator vacuum". Its like digging a hole that fills itself in. I like shooting them too, and will continue to do so, but do not expect it to have some miracle affect on your piece of land. Running trap lines might put enough a dent in them for the time being, but I bet that is a losing battle as well.
All this being said, don't waste money on a bounty program. It'll just cost money and not fix any problem, potentially making localized populations larger.
Light reading. The studies are out there if anyone likes to read scientific papers, but most do not/will not.

Wow. I see all these posts of coyotes being an "unsolvable problem" and "they'll never be under control", well not with that attitude. It wasn't but a short time ago men in this country killed and trapped critters to the brink of extinction. Ask the buffalo. IF we wanted them dead bad enough it wouldn't take long, but we don't want to put forth the effort. Anything that makes it more attractive for people like Ricky to keep trapping I'm all for it.
On so many levels.
You even mention the idea of raising license fees for something like tele-check or buck tags and people lose their minds. "I can't afford a dollar." "My family will starve." " Socialism" "Nazi Germany" "DNR is the Gestapo" blah blah blah.
But now you all think that paying someone else to kill a coyote when they see one is worth me paying more for my hunting license?
Just get DNR biologists to put together a management plan. It worked wonders for our waterfowl. Yotes will be at record lows in 5 years
