My club just elected to go with a second year of doe tags rather than the regular doe day route. There was an overwhelming response to stick with tags rather than revert to the friday/saturday doe days that used to be the norm. Are you other Upstate guys sticking with tags like we are?

Yeah, we'll have tags. Last year we only used 2. All of the other does we killed ended up being on doe days anyway.

I like having them for the weekdays I get to hunt after work.

Seems like we have the same debate, but we always end up getting them anyway...

Isn't it the rule that if you have tags, doe days are a wash?

we usually get some, but we never use more than a couple of them. all the does we shoot are on the doe days.

Just get individual tags so you can whack em and stack em. You can get either 2 or 4, and the 10-20 dollars goes to DNR. I have always bought four, and never used more than three. Between does and bucks, I give meat away as my family of 5 only eats 3-4 deer a yr.

There are two different Antlerless Tag Programs- one personal (buy the 2 or 4 tags as noted- to be used only on NON antlerless days) and then a Property Based Program by which the property is allowed "X" number of tags to be used on any antlerless deer killed regardless of an antlerless day or not.

Check out both programs- one may work better for a given property than another.

if you are signed up with DNR to receive tags, you have to tag your does...even on doe days. In other words, doe days dont matter....

at least that's the way it is down here. you can't have both.
Ugh. Stupid people piss me off.

Are you supposed to use a tag if you have the personal tags and shoot a doe on doe day?

If you order personal doe tags, order all you want for the year. If you get two and later want another two, they won't do it. It's a one time purchase deal.

We only get them as individuals.

What are the requirements for getting them as a group/hunting unit?

Yeah, I know I could look it up on the DNR site, but y'all need something to do...
