JAB,
when i was a kid we shot the fork swamp a good bit.
I can remember we were in there one morning and ya'll(or someone from the club) were behind us and shot the world up.
I can remember my father saying that the people behind us were the owners of the two rivers hunt club.
We killed a few woodies, 3 black ducks, and 2 mallard drakes.
I do admit to water swatting my black, because I had already missed two.
ALOT of black ducks have died in there.
Seems like you could always jump a pair in with the woodies.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.

KILLED 2 BLACK DUCKS ON DEC 16 NORTH OF CAMDEN ON A BEAVER POND. THESE WAS THE FIRST DUCK HUNT FOR MY 9 MONTH OLD LAB. IT WAS ABOUT 1 OR 2 MINUTES AFTER SHOOTING TIME BEGIN AND TWO BIG DUCKS BEGAN CIRCLING THE TIMBER ABOVE ME AND MY DOG. THEY GO TO LAND ABOUT 100 YARDS AWAY. I HIT THEM WITH FIVE OR SIX REALLY FAST NOTES AND THEY PICK BACK UP. THEY CIRCLE TWO MORE TIMES AND GO TO LAND ABOUT 70 YARDS FROM US. CALL HARD AND FAST AGAIN TO KEEP THEM FROM GOING DOWN OUT OF RANGE. THE PICK UP AND SWING RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME AND MY DOG FOWLER. KILL BOTH DUCKS AND MY DOG BRINGS THE FIRST ONE BACK A BLACK DUCK HEN AND THE SECOND RETRIEVE BROUGHT BACK A DRAKE BLACK DUCK. MY FIRST BLACK DUCKS AND MY DOGS FIRST DUCK RETRIEVES. THESE WERE THE ONLY TWO DUCKS I SEEN THAT MORNING BUT PROBABLY MY BEST DUCK HUNT EVER. BOTH DUCKS ARE GOING ON THE WALL.

you might have meant to write, "I shot one of the black ducks and the next day when I went back the drake circled back around and I shot it."

Then again, what do I know.

Sucks when you admit in print that you shot over the limit.
