How many ducks are here

The weather is cold here. The weather is cold to the north. Where are the ducks? Santee has 6,000 ducks total according to a friend who went and counted. The private ponds don't have any ducks that I have heard about. How many ducks are in South Carolina on the eve of duck season? 10,000? Maybe 15,000? We are in a world of hurt. I think it is time to go to Mexico or Argentina and work out some frustration.

The Refuge count yesterday was 4,351 - this time last year it was 9,663. Ducks on the private impoundments along the coast and on the WMAs are considered to be extremely good with a few exceptions. Ducks on Santee Coastal are numerous. Some well managed inland impoundments report highest numbers in years. Those that were hunted heavy in the first season report a sharp drop in numbers.

okay okay ive got the answer my calculations show me that there are percisly 65,704 ducks in the state right now...

ooooo hold on since you read the top part of the post we have dramically droped to 65,703
