    Default incredible weekend

so incredible that i didnt hunt the weekend for the first time all year. kids and wife at beach and home alone...on a little recovery mission and some good work yesterday

it feels strange not having a cooler full of ducks to clean by lunch on sunday for the first time this year.

but i am ok with it.....sort of

i did wake up at 330 sat and couldnt sleep so built a great big old fire and pretended like i was going hunting for a little while.

With a 3.5yr old, and one 11months... I don't even remember what a quiet house is like.

I would have taken advantage as well..

nice fire and solitude = priceless

if i had a wood stove again i would wake up at random times in the night to build a fire too.

hey, get ya one more. there is no difference..hahahaha

i remember a few couple telling us that years back. "yall already have 2 boys, co ahead and try for that girl...its just one more and there aint a bit of difference in 2 to 3"

    BULLSHIT

now that nearly 3 years have passed, and have a 7, 5, and 2 year old...things are getting easier. but damnit they lied. i wouldnt trade my 2 year old daughter for all the gold in the world, but it sure hasnt been "no different" like some claimed.

so when this house clears out for a few mights and days and nobody is around, hermit mode is where i reside. no children arguing and running and just generally being children.

2 nights of them away is enough though...it gets alittle too damn quiet around here and even the dog gets alittle depressed.

spent this morning with a nice outside fire. started burning boxes in the fire pot, that turned into a piece or 3 of fat wood. them some pne cones, then a pile of branches....coffee, sunrise, dog, bowl of grits and sausage and everything was good again.

shortly my crew will invade the house again and things will back to their "crazy ass normal" round here...

You picked a good Saturday to pass on hunting. Not near the ducks that were there 2 weeks back when you killed that banded bird. Did miss your smiling face though....

I opened this expecting to see dead ducks or at least a dead ditch tiger.

Glad you enjoyed it. I was at home by myself with my three savages (7,5, and 2) while the wife was at a conference in Birmingham. I spent the weekend juggling kids and arguing with a plumber that didn't want to do the job he had agreed to. Your weekend sounds infinitely better than mine!
