SWAN LAKE: 40,000 ducks (mostly mallards); 60,000 snow geese.
SQUAW CREEK: 104,000 ducks (mostly mallards); 10,000 geese (mostly snows and blues).
BOB BROWN: 34,500 ducks (85 percent mallards). Hunting has been good. One-quarter inch of ice on marshes.
GRAND PASS: 90,000 ducks (mostly mallards). Hunting has been good. Heavy hunting pressure. On Monday, 96 hunters took 268 ducks and 2 geese.
FOUR RIVERS: 93,000 ducks (mostly mallards); 15,000 geese (mostly snows and blues). Hunting has been good. Some ice.
MONTROSE: 7,000 ducks (mostly mallards); 21,000 snow geese. Hunting has been fair. Light hunting pressure.
SCHELL-OSAGE: 18,000 ducks (mostly mallards); 25,000 snow geese; 1,000 Canada geese. Hunting has been fair. From Dec. 8 to Dec. 13, 212 hunters took 353 ducks.
SMITHVILLE: Low numbers of ducks. Hunting has been poor.
OTTER SLOUGH: 26,000 ducks (mostly mallards); 54,000 snow geese. Hunting has been fair. Moderate hunting pressure.
DUCK CREEK: 11,000 ducks (mostly mallards); 55 Canada geese. Hunting has been poor.
Kansas
CHEYENNE BOTTOMS: Less than 4,000 ducks; 10,000 to 30,000 geese. Hunting has been poor.
MARAIS DES CYGNES: 25,000 ducks (mostly mallards). Hunting has been poor to fair. Season harvest total as of Dec. 12: 2,129 hunters had taken 3,034 ducks.
NEOSHO: 26,000 ducks (mostly mallards); 2,100 geese (mostly snows and blues). Hunting has been fair.
FLINT HILLS: 7,700 ducks (80 percent mallards); 1,200 geese. Hunting has been fair.
PERRY: 1,750 ducks (mostly mallards). Hunting has been poor to fair.
MILFORD: 6,000 ducks (mostly mallards). Hunting has been poor. Ducks are using the main lake and are hard to decoy.
QUIVIRA: 27,000 ducks (mostly mallards); 810,000 geese (300,000 snows, 260,000 whitefront, 250,000 Canadas). One whooping crane still in the area. Call refuge for up-to-date information on whether the area is open to hunting.
MELVERN: Less than 300 mallards. Hunting has been fair.
CLINTON: 1,750 ducks (mostly mallards); 4,500 geese (mostly snows and blues). Hunting has been fair. Thin ice on the wetlands.
HILLSDALE: 150 ducks (mostly mallards). Hunting has been fair.
GLEN ELDER: 5,000 ducks (mostly mallards); 25,000 geese (mostly snows and blues). Goose hunting has been fair to good; duck hunting has been poor to fair.
McPHERSON VALLEY: Less than 300 ducks (mostly mallards); 100 Canada geese. Hunting has been poor to fair.
JAMESTOWN: 650 ducks (mix of species); 450 geese (mostly snows). Hunting has been poor.
