    Default canker sore on uvula?

    i got a big ass canker sore on my uvula (dangly thing in back of throat)....

    anyone ever had one? worst sore throat ive ever had by far... up until this i thought Mono was the worst sore throat you could have, this thing has it beat....

    cant eat, sleep, drink, talk, or breath hard with out it feeling like you are swallowing razor blades...

    cant put any medicine for canker sores on it because if you touch that thing you gag!...


    worst part about it is bein hungry, setting down with a big plate of food, and loosing your appetite after three bites.....

    any one ever had one?

    I've not had one on my uvula, but I came down with strep throat a couple months ago and had a wicked reaction to it. I had 14 visible canker sores on my tonsils. I went a full week without eating. My doctor gave me "Magic Mouthwash", which is a mixture of benadryl, tetracycline (an antibiotic), Nystatin (an antifungal), and hydrocortisone. It worked pretty well. I was able to tolerate the pain for a few minutes after using the stuff.

    There are some OTC mouthwashes with hydrogen peroxide that I have used in the past that help to clean the sore and seem to cut healing time in half.

    you can mix it yourself over the counter.

    equal parts: milk of magnesia, liquid benadryl, viscous lidocaine.

    you cant get the antibiotic part...but likely viral so it wouldnt help anyway.

    ten fo... i mixed malox and liquid benedril when i had mono a few years back and it did seem to help for a few minutes...

    ive been gargling with warm saltwater and some oragel mouth wash that has peroxide in it...



    last night i was starvin, i get home and cook me a bowl of ramen noodles, and only ate half a bowl....

    i would take two bites of noodles, and suck on a cough drop for a few minutes, then take two more bites of noodles and go back to the cough drop....

    this shit is enough to make a grown man cry.

    what really sucks is its got the damn thing swollen up twice normal size.... so it constantly feels like you have somethin stuck in your throat and you need to swallow.... but swallowing is when it hurts the worse....

    its like a sick twisted pain marry go round...

    Get a script from a dentist/dr. Also, there is some kind of vitamin you can take too that will really cut down on em too.. I think it starts with a Z or something, Ill find out..

    I've heard folks say that gargling with warm salty water helps with that. But in your case, I think gargling with a revolver would be more appropriate.
