we wore em out last weekend. Cut em up and froze em for catfish bait.

I have tried to freeze shad several times for catfish but one guy I fish with always uses fresh bait. He ALWAYS catches more fish too! Do you do anything other than freeze them? I have tried salt and fish oil before but with the same results: when it thaws its a different texture. I froze a bunch of gizzards from a local lake and took them to santee, didn't get a bite on the frozen ones. Brought my net and caught enough to get by on by the lighted pier at Harry's. Nice catch!
