I bought mine about a week ago and have shot it four different times. I had the Drenalin and like everything about the Z7 except that it feels a little heavier. It is definitely smoother, faster and quieter.

"You are Citadel Men, you have no pension for failure, you wear the Ring, you never let a friend down, you will be good fathers, husbands, and leaders in the armed forces and industry, you are strong in heart, body, and mind. You protect such things as Honor and Fidelity. Your virtues matter not only in wealth, but in the richness of family, you are the last of the knights."
- late President Ronald Reagan
I also have the drenalin and love it. However, I shot the Z7 at the Archery shop and love it. IMO it's the best hunting bow Mathews has come out with in while. It has been flyin off the shelf.
I took the matthews plunge and bought a Z7
Shot the Z7 and Elite Z28 this past week. Went in thinking I would like the Z28 better. I was shoked to find the Z7 much more to my liking. The Z28 was slightly better on the draw, but the Z7 took over from there. The most noticeable difference was the significantly less vibration of the Z7. I also prefer the grip of the Z7 to the Z28. Long and the short of it, I'm sold on the Z7. Got a Yamaha Tiller 30 hp I've gotta get rid of and I'm taking the plunge.

Have ya'll been reading the reveiews on the Bear Attack? On almost every forum that I've read the Attack is killing the Z7 whenever shot side by side.

I am stilling rocking the ol' Outback with no plans to change. If I ever
bought another bow for some reason it would be a Q2.
Maybe I am just behind the times but I ain't seen a reason that justifies changing.
Being a bow manufactor has got to be a tough gig. Every year you have to come out with a "new and improved" version of a device that has been around millions of years - that in itself has got to be a challenge. Secondly, you then go out and convence your customers(the same ones that just bought from you last year) that their deeply depreciated bow is WAY BEHIND this year's model and that they should upgrade because this new bow is "THE BEST EVER" (until next year).
No thanks.
I agree. There's no way I would want to be the lead marketing guy for one of the major bow companies. On the flip side of that if I were going to start any kind of company I would try my best to hire the lead marketing person from Mathews. LoL
I did go out and buy a "new to me" bow a few weeks ago. I bought a 2009 Pearson TX4 to rig up for hogs. I was going to keep my Tribute as my primary deer bow, but I'm getting to like the TX4 a lot. For anyone who hasn't shot Pearson in a while, they are making a come back since the company was sold.
I just bought the Hyperlite last November and love it for hunting but if i were to shoot a bow for 3D and hunting it would be the Z7 by far. It is the most forgiving, smoothest, quietest bow I have ever shot. Solid 9.5 out of 10.
I took the plunge. Sold the Switchback.
