regular season includes the conference championship game. that means he had 1145 yards on the ground. 2525 total offensive yards on the year. I think that deserved a plane ride.

I just hope Suh or Ingram get the whole shebang. McCoy and Tebow didn't impress me all that much this year. As for Spiller, well, I thought he'd get to make the trip, but the two losses to wrap it up must have cost him the invite.
I agree, he probably should be in the top 5.
Spiller was listed 6th by these folks. They've picked the Heisman trphy winner 7 out of the last 7 years. They have Ingram winning it.

He was supposed to get the invite but he couldnt make the travel due to the turf toe. Couldnt really walk around, but damn if that turf toe woulda dissapeared during his celebration of winning it...
In all honesty, he deserved a plane ticket. Thats it.
The Elites don't fear the tall nails, government possesses both the will and the means to crush those folks. What the Elites do fear (or should fear) are the quiet men and women, with low profiles, hard hearts, long memories, and detailed target folders for action as they choose.
"I here repeat, & would willingly proclaim, my unmitigated hatred to Yankee rule—to all political, social and business connections with Yankees, & to the perfidious, malignant, & vile Yankee race."
I don't think Tebow deserved a ride, but leadership is a big deal in the Heisman.
I think CJ's lack of rushing yards and being on a unranked, un-hyped team hurt him the most, but just like a few others said, there are alot of backs out there with WAY more yards (in a play, not a free-for-all return, you know - in the trenches RUNNING the ball against timely defense). Gearhart has like 1700 yards on the season. Not including any of his all purpose yards. I am not going to bash on CJ, any team would be happy to have them in the backfield. Just think if he would have went to Florida, he would have either been through more strength training and not so apt to jump out of bounds, and he would have been on a media hyped team.
The biggest thing that hurt CJ was being on the roster at Clemson University. that is not a dig, he could have had those yards at almost any unranked school, and be noticed just as little. (USC included)
How dare you guys discount Sue, dammit this is what pisses me off. He plays in the big 12 for Nebraska unless you have gameplan you haven't seen much of him here. That team has hardly any offense, and Sue and #33 have kept them in every ball game this year. He is the most deserving defensive guy in the NCAA. (Compare to David Pollack)
Ingram deserves this trophy. You look at a few key alabama games, where the QB was having an off game, Saban put ingram in the wildcat direct snap game, and he single handedly put at least 4 games this year on his shoulders and fuggin won em. He is the leader, the rusher, the all purpose guy of 2009. And after running all over the fair haired child of Gainsville (florida). It shows you that he is the most deserved.
War Eagle should have won that game. They are on the comeback.
Clemson is retiring Spiller's number and putting him in the Ring of Honor.
Ugh. Stupid people piss me off.
and they should

They ran a full page ad in USA Today that cost something like $133,000. I think that was about 2 weeks ago.
A few things:
1) I agree with SimpleMan on this one. Spiller is a good athlete. Will he be a running back in the NFL,umm no, he doesnt have enough lateral mobility to play that position in the league. You see what Reggie Bush is doing. He is much more mobile than Spiller and he isn't great in the league. Spiller will be a return man of some sort. His great speed and down hill running make him a huge threat.
2) i believe Ingram or McCoy will win it. I hope Ingram does. I am not a Bama fan by any means, but this kid has a great story. His senoir year of high school no one even knew who he was. His father called in a favor to Burton Burnes( ex Clemson running back coaches) who is now at Bama. His father asked him to please come take a look his son, dad thought he had a chance. Being friends Burton Burnes scheduled the visit to Flint Michigan. After seeing him play and returning to let Nick Saban know they really have something in this kid. There plan was to keep it under wraps so no other team would know they were interested so they wouldn't go see him. Alabama was the only team that visited him and they got him what a player they got. Mark Ingram( bama running back) is the third cousin to ex giant receiver Mark Ingram.. Just good blood lines i guess.
3) Tebow---Although really dont want him to win. He still has a chance. There has never been a player in College football to do what he has done. He is an icon, a legend! Just his character alone sets him apart from any other player. What a great example he has set for a ton of young players today. He exudes confidence, a team attitude, and faith above all. Again I too am tired of hearing about Tebow. He has done so much. If he never steps foot in the NFL he will make a ton of money being a spokesman or off endorsements.
Only player in the nation to score a touchdown in every game.
First player in NCAA history to have 3,000 yards rushing, 2,000 yards on kickoff returns, 1,000 yards receiving, and 500 yards on punt returns.

only player in the nation to score a td in every game? wow, quite a mindblowing feat!
first player in ncca history to have 3000/2000/1000/500. take away the punt and kickoff yds and just about every decent back in a programs history has these numbers. who gives a shit about kickoff/punt yds??? LOL. i think his numbers kind of show the lack of available talent cu has.
