Default hope it was a clean miss

got caught going in. tried to free hand across a bean field. the buck squatted down and just ran in half circle right back into the woods. he didnt arch his back or kick his rear legs. he was just digging! it was so wet and raining, i looked long and late and never saw one single drop of blood. i can handle a clean miss, he will be there again. anyone have opinions or a deers reaction to a hit or a miss / scare?

Running tail up or down? Down usually signals a hit!!

I've had deer not leave a drop of blood where the shot occurred and didn't pick up a trail for about 75 yrds. He may be laying dead somewhere.

I agree with Tater you need to leave the wounding of deer to us bow hunters.
Too bad Rage doesn't make ammunition.

    Few questions:
    Free hand how far?

Do you practice free hand shots?
