    Default Grandpa's WWII pictures

With the anniversary of D-Day coming this weekend, I dug up some pictures my grandpa took while he was overseas. His tour of duty started out in Iceland, then to England, crossed the English Channel on D-Day, and marched into Germany, fighting the whole way.

Wow. That is absolutely amazing, thanks for sharing BEAR. It is incomprehensible for me to fully understand and appreciate just how much that generation did.

I think I am going to go down to White Stone and assemble my Granddad's pictures this weekend. My Great Uncle was in the South Pacific and has a lot of pictures of women down there with baskets on their heads and no tops on. My Grandad had a badass German motorcycle he "took possession of" somewhere around Anzio. We have a picture of him on it drinking a beer.
