    Default Shhhhh!

    We is killin wabbits...

7 little bitty beagles and a bunch of dew berry thickets. Had 5 good races. The 4 that were rabbits didn't make it. The first race started out as a rabbit but the dogs ran slam into a deer and the sight chase was more than they could stand. after we gathered the dogs we put 4 in the bag. Fun and heading out again this week.

    Those are good sized rabbits.

Is that the normal size that they get down here ?

About average. We killed some monsters in Alabama back in the day. We had what we called "sage bunnies" and "cane cutters". Those cane cutters were massive and long. For around here though that is what we usually kill.

Delta in a nutshell: Breeding grounds + small wetlands + big blocks of grass cover + predator removal + nesting structures + enough money to do the job= plenty of ducks to keep everyone smiling!

    My pleasure. Anytime.

In my defense you've never accepted any of the other invites so quite frankly I thought this time would be no different.

You're a tease and you know it.

    I roll with an 870 express .410 I've had for about 20 years. 3" 6's.

Old fellas with the dogs packed a single shot H&R 20 gauge each.

Odd man on the left rolled with an 1187 12ga.

FYI, two of dem bunnies was kilt with a .410.

    ahem.

When I was a lot younger, probably 12... I had a Mosseburg pump 12 gauge. The wabbit was coming right at me up the field. After 6 shots at him I threw the gun at him and came closer with it than I did with the shots. My brother shot and killed him just as he cleared me. I don't think he will ever let me live that down. Now I carry a Ithaca Super Single 20. Hell of a wabbit gun.

Very nice we used to run some dem "cane bustas" over in Cherokee County. We always called em' "swampers". My wabbit weapon of choice Mossburg youth 20ga looks like its been to hell and back.
