For those that fence off their sunflowers, when do you feel comfortable removing the fence?

I would like to bush hog some of the field and possibly make a pass with the disc.

I don’t like to take mine down until mid August. May be later than necessary. I have a couple of gate openings to get into the field with a tractor. They are pretty easy to set up if you use a couple of wooden posts. Obviously that doesn’t help you now but might be worth installing next year. I turned over some strips of dirt today.

Seed variety, know saunders had a bunch and didn’t know if you tried them. Planted at my place but less than ideal conditions.

We had to replant after turkeys ate most of the seed. That's a great problem to have. Scarecrows and we made it work.
