Trump asked him to. She was like a daughter to LG, he raised her after their parents died.

She has never won a single election. for anything. - shoutout to Kamala
Sure, make her a senator representing our fine state! Cause big bro looked out posthumously.

I get that but appoint her to the senate? Make it make sense…

Somebody had to be appointed, and that person was not going to be an election winner for the position. Not sure how appointing her for a temporary position is shitting on the state. Looks like she will be a solid conservative vote which is all that is needed until an election can be held.

I did some digging into this move and apparently it is something that has happened before but not in a long time and is usually reserved for the deceased’s widow. It’s done to prevent swaying the election for the replacement by not showing favoritism.

Now I have no clue what this means as far as voting on bills etc goes, I didn’t dive that far down the rabbit hole.

Take a few deep breaths and step away from the key board. Shes only going to finish out Lindsay's term. They need somebody that will vote like Lindsay for 5 months.

There's a primary coming for the Nov candidate in a few weeks. That's the list your pick needs to be on.

Luckily, there are only 80 working days in the rest of the Senate calendar. They take the entire amount of August off.

They will just tell her when to show up and which way to vote. She will not assume all of his committee responsibilities other than voting. The definition of a party puppet.

Thank you gents. Nice to see some sane rational thoughts being posted.

Appointing the sister to finish the term is not apoplectic by any means.
We still have a slate of republican candidates to vote for with the winner going up against the demonrat nominee in November

As far as any votes casted by little sister, I'm betting her votes will align with the republican senate verses crossing the aisle.

It's all good from where I'm sitting.

    Exactly
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Well, at least she’ll do a possible 5 months of maybe something versus the nothing for a lifetime that the other recipients get.
