    I wish the Feds would ban released mallards....and enforce it. Sad to say, both State and Federal elected officials partake in canned release duck shoots and act like they're "hunters".

    My buddy and I each submitted 3 mallards this year. One was 90% wild genetics, which classified it as a wild mallard-game farm mallard hybrid in their system. The other 5 were between 95 and 99% wild genetics, which must be within the margin of error since they were all classified as wild mallards in the system. Pleasantly surprised they weren't 100% game farm genetics as offspring of released birds or dock ducks.

    So, the uneducated, mud-in-the-eye public duck hunters were right all along and the "educated" biologists at the SCWA and elsewhere were completely and utterly wrong while the sit-on-the-sideline SCDNR missed its opportunity to actually protect our wild resources...yeah, we know.
